this feels like an uncomfortable collection of irregular sized margins. people hate that? notice it? who is your audient? does any of it matter if the content really resonates with the message/ ?

thinking through - context, texture, forms and (as always) composition in 3d space.
organic grid
the composition of this image is splendid. i admire the ability within photography to capture people in space in such a simplified way. designing occupiable spaces that appear this simple feels like a dream. where's the exit sign? power outlet?

it's summer in the southern hemisphere
this entry screams: the holidays are coming but all i can think about is the White Lotus art direction.

did
that come up because it's almost Christmas? i wonder.
also it that real? does that building exist in real life or is that an AI art production.
i have a horrible feeling i used this photo in a previous post. how am i going to keep track of that?
thoughts about the ceramic cup up there.
1. i would buy the ceramic vessel displayed above. it personally suits my taste. i'd use it as a drinking cup. so i'd purchase 8 maybe. i know it's a big commitment.
2. i would print, matte and frame the above photo of the ceramic cup. the print would definitely reside in distant proximity to where the cups are stored. i have a weird sense of humor.
3. i want to spend 10 minutes in the head space of the person who cropped the above photo. and then demand to see the 2-3 drafts that exist before they landed on the final product (as seen above)
4. i wonder if the photo editor would appreciate the off-center location I've chosen for display on this very page? i think they would appreciate it
5. i took ceramics "wheel throwing" as an elective in college. i have above average hand-eye coordination. to my surprise and entertainment, i struggled with getting the clay centered. height was not an option so for my final assignment i presented a glorious collection of short ceramic cups. i have a deep appreciation of anything made on a wheel. also, what happens to glaze in the kiln is pretty exciting.

interior spaces in the residential and hospitality realm are shaping up to look like cloistered monasteries.

there's some good to forcing yourself to add something to the idea board. even when you don't feel massively inspired. admittedly - the photo on the left was a first round suggestion from my stock photo library. nevertheless, it prompted me to crave an up-close image of denim. it must have been the color scheme of the misty landscape and the simple elegance of a roadside image. blue, relaxed, misty, gray blue, accessible.

work place design concept
work place design concept
this image is egregiously literal, i can do better
find images that speak to the look and feel of the last day working in a factory knowing you've won the lottery and are 15 mins away from resigning - but it's a workplace design mood board
i might need to be more specific about what kind of factory and what year. i'm thinking this factory makes micro-chips? or maybe autonomous vehicles.
specificity within visual ties really sells concept.
texture / pattern = common thread visual?
contrast of visuals - color and texture could also play into the design scheme
a color palette?
pallet - factory - shipping - ?
pun - why can't i help myself?
water features albeit valid sources of restorative interior elements (#WELL), are pretty lux in a workplace setting. a true pain in the ass to maintain?
(note to self: look up innovations in indoor water features that may have reduced how much of a pain in the ass they are to maintain)
they might take on the role of representing the feeling of impending convalescence.

Deriving inspo from a stock photo of a pile of potatoes.
Because Who Doesn't Like A Challenge?
Let's Begin
If i had to point to the most sophisticated example of something that you could argue was inspired by the hearty root vegetable, this would be it.
Too on-the-nose?
Shapes? sort of | Color? Maybe. Actually, YES. Potato Interior
Consulted AI Image Generator
Delighted with results.
Teachable Moment:
Avoid using "stack of potatoes"
My prompt started off strong. Then I got real and included "stack of potatoes" so as to honor the efforts of the original inspo image. I'm finding the less AI knows about my prompts the less literal. Meaning to say, it's easy to specifically represent a potato. So the results are going to present less inspired ideas, even when I include "potato inspired" in the prompt.
the scale of this lighting fixture
is an absolute catastrophe, but the shape - what do we think - am I allowed to call it elegant?
